Libermann Junior School Study Tour: Learning Beyond the Classroom

At Libermann Junior School, learning goes beyond the classroom walls. Our recent study tour gave pupils the chance to explore, observe, and interact with real-world environments, while connecting what they learn in class to hands-on experiences.

The tour was designed to give every learner age-appropriate experiences that build curiosity, creativity, teamwork, communication, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Nursery Pupils Learn Through Guided Play

Our Nursery pupils visited Kids Play Park in Kungu, where they took part in fun, guided play activities.

Through play and interaction, our youngest learners built important skills such as creativity, confidence, teamwork, communication, and social interaction. The visit showed how learning can be both educational and enjoyable, even for our littlest pupils.

Primary One to Three Explore Industry and Media

Pupils in Primary One to Three visited Britannia Company, NBS Television, and Kiwatule Recreation Centre.

At Britannia Company, the pupils learned about different stages of biscuit production, including hygiene, packaging, and quality control. Their visit to NBS Television introduced them to the world of television broadcasting, journalism, and media production.

The learners also enjoyed recreational activities at Kiwatule Recreation Centre, making the day both educational and memorable.

Primary Four to Seven Discover Agriculture and Transport

Pupils in Primary Four to Seven visited NARO Farm in Mukono, Port Bell in Luzira, and Kiwatule Recreation Centre.

At NARO Farm, pupils explored modern agriculture, livestock and crop management, and sustainable farming practices. At Port Bell, they learned about water transport, trade, and how the facility contributes to Uganda’s economy.

The mix of educational visits and recreational time gave pupils a broader understanding of how different sectors contribute to everyday life and the wider economy.

Learning Through Real-Life Experiences

Overall, the study tour brought classroom knowledge to life. It sparked curiosity, strengthened social skills, and created lasting memories for our pupils.

Libermann Junior School is grateful to the teachers, support staff, parents, school management, and host institutions for their valuable contribution to the success of this study tour.

This experience reaffirms the School’s commitment to learning beyond the classroom and to providing a holistic education for every learner.
